Running on LowCommunity

Frequently asked questions

The questions that come up most. Something else on your mind? See the community guidelines or privacy policy for more detail.

Is anything on this site medical advice?

No. Running on Low is a peer support community and information hub, not a medical service. Health tips, supplement info, and condition overviews are general education — and posts on the wall are personal experience, not professional guidance. Always talk to your own doctor or care team about your treatment.

Is this free?

Yes, and it's meant to stay that way. The wall, every health tips page, all condition overviews, and the supplements reference are free to use. There's a donate page for anyone who wants to help cover hosting costs, but it's entirely optional.

Is there a newsletter?

Yes — a short weekly digest of what happened on the wall, sent once a week. Subscribe with just your email in the footer; every email has an unsubscribe link if you change your mind.

Do you sell or share my data?

No. There are no advertising trackers on this site, and account or post data is never sold, rented, or shared with data brokers. See the privacy policy for the full detail on what's collected and why.

Do I need an account to use the wall?

No — the wall is open to everyone. You can read it and post on it without signing up; there's an optional name field if you want to post as something other than Anonymous. Creating an account isn't required anywhere on the site.

Can I delete something I posted?

If you posted while logged into an account, yes — there's a Delete link on your own posts. If you posted without an account, there's no way to prove after the fact which post was yours, so self-service delete isn't available; reach out through the privacy policy page and it can be handled directly.

What if I see something that needs to come down?

Every post has a Report link that sends it to an admin for review — it's not removed automatically. Admins can also delete any post that violates the community guidelines directly. If it's urgent, reaching out directly still works too.

I'm supporting someone with a chronic illness, not managing one myself — is this still for me?

Yes. There's a whole caregivers page written for exactly that, and you're welcome to post on the wall too — partners, parents, and friends are part of this community, not just people with a diagnosis.

My condition isn't covered yet — can I ask for it?

Yes — there's a request a condition form. It goes on the list for future research and writing; there's no guaranteed timeline, but every request gets read.

I'm having a really hard time right now. What should I do?

Please don't sit with it alone — the crisis support page has people available 24/7, for free, and it's always okay to reach out to them directly rather than waiting on a reply from the wall.
